Indigenous Youth Roots Policy School Curriculum

Sep 2023 - Sep 2024

IYR has been a returning client since 2020 for speaking, training, consulting. Curriculum serves +25 Indigenous youth annually.

Over the course of a year, I led the strategic rewrite and expansion of the Indigenous Youth Policy School (IYPS) curriculum, a flagship program by Indigenous Youth Roots. The school supports Indigenous youth aged 18–30 to build skills in policy development, governance, and civic engagement grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing.

  • Conducted curriculum audit and evaluation using feedback from past participants and facilitators across Canada

  • Integrated qualitative reflection data into an evaluation matrix to inform measurable and community-rooted success criteria

  • Wrote and revised curriculum modules aligned with decolonial pedagogy, trauma-informed practices, and Indigenous governance frameworks

  • Developed learning outcomes and facilitation guides tailored to regional delivery while ensuring national consistency

  • Collaborated with national and community-based facilitators to ensure cultural relevance and accessibility across diverse Nations and urban contexts

  • Contributed to branded communications materials for recruitment, reporting, and stakeholder engagement

  • Supported alignment with multilateral partners, including funders and Indigenous policy leaders, ensuring curriculum met both grassroots and institutional priorities
